Tbilisi, Georgia: the flagstore branch of the New Liberty Bank creates its new look and identity exploiting the beauty and the functionality Corian® solid surface
To the East of the Black Sea, Georgia's Liberty Bank chose Corian® to adorn its newly inaugurated flagstore branch in Tbilisi. The Georgian bank has the widest branch network and client base within the country and has chosen this most versatile of modern materials for architecture and design to transform the interiors into a dynamic and inviting space.
Located at the bank's corporate headquarters within the renowned Liberty Tower, host also to several other important Georgian and international companies, this brilliant project by Georgian Dmark architectural studio represents a symbolic metaphor for the ongoing rapid transformation of Liberty Bank. The interior is characterised by dramatic and bold elements: dynamic shapes and the vivid red and white colours of Corian® solid surfaces confer an appealing, eye-catching vibrancy to the design.
Open to retail, corporate and private banking clients, the bank's greeting area is dominated by the sculptural and monolithic reception desk. Formability, a seamless look and aesthetic beauty combined with strength, scratch resistance, ease of maintenance and repairability made the selection of Corian® solid surface an easy choice for Dmark architects and rendered it a protagonist within the overall design.
The seven teller areas also showcase Corian® surfacing material in the countertops, cladding, and privacy panels. The desks for a team of thirty retail lending officers and corporate and private bankers are also made with the vibrant red and candid white of Corian® solid surface.
Dominated by basic colours, modern shapes and the innovative design material, Corian® solid surface, the new Liberty Bank flagstore branch at the corporate headquarters in Tbilisi reflects the dynamic evolution of the company. After its acquisition in 2009, it adopted a new name, corporate identity and logo, signalling a re-launch of its business.
