In the heart of the Prosecco hills, just minutes from the center of Valdobbiadene, La Casa di Laura is a Liberty-style villa from 1930 that now welcomes its guests in a refined, authentic, and surprisingly modern environment. The renovation project, which lasted five years, is the result of a shared vision between the property owner and the architect, united by the desire to preserve the historical memory of the villa while also reinterpreting it with contemporary sensitivity.

With great passion, the project aimed to preserve the architectural identity of the villa, keeping the original decorative elements and proportions of the spaces intact, while also working to offer a modern and functional stay experience that meets the needs of today's hospitality.

At the forefront of this stunning space is a monolithic reception desk made from Corian® White Onyx. This contemporary and noble material was chosen for its exceptional aesthetic and performance qualities. The desk surface features an exclusive decorative design created by Cavigar's technical team, sculpted meticulously to resemble a bas-relief. This intricate design highlights the natural veining of the Corian®, engaging visitors with a captivating play of light and shadow that defines the space's identity.

Recognizing the importance of sustainability, Cavigar employed digital processing techniques that not only reduce waste but also optimize production processes. The low VOC content of the materials used contributes significantly to improving indoor air quality. The desk's perimeter is backlit by LED lights that not only highlight its intricate texture but also add a warm ambiance to the space. The carved design, which winds along the Corian® veining, creates a striking interplay of solids and voids, reflections, and geometric patterns. This project has the presence of a 7-star luxury hotel while at the same time mixes the warmth and organic feel of nature. It swept the Queensland HIA Bathroom and Kitchen Awards, but there is something you might not know about the beautiful Luxe Lodge – Corian® Solid Surface is featured extensively.

To achieve this look, the designer Mark Gacesa, mixed many natural finishes like Corian® Solid Surface, honed slab marble, rock cladding, Hosowari cladding, dull brass and aged bronze with glamorous finishes like antiqued Tuscan amber mirror.

With its silky, seamless finish, Corian® Lava Rock Shower Walls integrated smoothly into the material palette, supporting the clean, contemporary aesthetic the project set out to achieve. Inspiring Learning Through Design Freedom

Creating a breathtaking and welcoming experience for passengers that's designed to last in the heart of a major hub.

The new University of Wisconsin CDIS Building in Madison blends high-performance design with storytelling, featuring a 5,000+ sq ft topographic installation that traces the Wisconsin River across seven levels.

Led by LMN Architects and M|R Walls, the design celebrates regional identity and immerses students in a flowing, textural representation of the local landscape that spans over 5,000 square feet.

In addition to celebrating the region's natural beauty, this installation was designed to support the university's goal of achieving LEED Platinum certification—the highest level of recognition awarded by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program, for buildings that demonstrate exceptional sustainable building practices.

Accomplishing this level of depth and detail required an innovative approach. M|R Walls leveraged their patented puzzling logic and proprietary software to map the entire river system, ensuring that each piece would fit together seamlessly like an intricate jigsaw puzzle.

To achieve the complexity and precision required, M|R Walls relied on Corian® Solid Surface, chosen for its unique ability to be carved, thermoformed, and installed seamlessly across large-scale surfaces.

Essential to attaining the level of depth and detail this vision required was the ability to carve subtle variations in depth into ½” Corian® Solid Surface panels — depicting the river's tributaries and surrounding landscape topography in stunning detail. By maximizing the flexibility of Corian® Solid Surface using multiple drill bits and variable carving depths, M|R Walls introduced organic water textures that shift naturally as the river ‘flows' throughout the building's seven levels above grade.

Additionally, Corian® Solid Surface contributed to the project's LEED Platinum ambitions by delivering long-lasting performance, repairability, and low-maintenance hygiene, which are key for high-traffic educational spaces.

Working closely with general contractor J.H. Findorff & Sons Inc., M|R Walls arranged for each panel to be fabricated and milled at the Chicago CNC node, streamlining logistics for fast, tiered deliveries. Digitally mapped, pre-labeled, and pre-drilled, each panel arrived ready to install, enabling the team to complete over 1,000 sq ft per day with precision and efficiency.

The collaborative effort between LMN Architects, Kahler Slater, and M|R Walls resulted in a one-of-a-kind interior feature that seamlessly connects people with place — turning the Wisconsin River into an enduring symbol of innovation and natural beauty inside the new CDIS Building.

Helping Stunning Aesthetics Take Flight

Creating a breathtaking and welcoming experience for passengers that's designed to last in the heart of a major hub.

To make a memorable first impression for travelers arriving in Los Angeles, architectural firm PGAL partnered with M|R Walls to create an installation that spans five key locations throughout a terminal in a popular international airport.

Drawing inspiration from California's iconic beaches and natural sand dunes, M|R Walls created a series of non-repetitive 3D textures that were seamlessly integrated through their patented technology.

When it came to selecting the right material to bring this impressive design to life, M|R Walls chose Corian® Solid Surface because it's incredibly durable, hygienic, easy to clean, and can be molded and thermoformed into custom 3D shapes.

In addition to its functional benefit as a protective wall covering, the M|R Walls design provided an artful narrative to welcome travelers to California—perfectly suited for the interior of a busy international airport.

Using pieces carved from Corian® Solid Surface and a proprietary process, every element of the M|R Walls sand dune motif was pieced together like a puzzle leaving no visible seams. M|R Walls developed a custom attachment method for this project that required no sanding during the installation process. This enabled the feature wall to be installed in just under two weeks. At roughly 40 ft tall and 80 ft wide, the installation quickly became a prominent feature throughout the terminal.

With the ability to be easily cut, shaped, and seamlessly thermoformed, Corian® Solid Surface played a vital role in realizing this visionary design. The elegant finish of Corian® Solid Surface Bleached Nuwood also provided M|R Walls with the warm and comforting aesthetic needed to welcome every visitor in style.

Summary

Located in the heart of Philadelphia, Jefferson Health's Honickman Center stands as a beacon of modern healthcare, specifically designed to create a peaceful and calming environment for patients.

To address sensory sensitivities of both neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals, Stantec partnered with Ennead Architects and M|R Walls to develop a custom cloud wall that spans 17,000 square feet over 12 floors using Corian® Solid Surface.

Because of its durability, ease of cleaning, and ability to be molded and thermoformed into 2D and 3D shapes, Corian® Solid Surface was identified as the best material for this project. But what truly made this innovative project possible was M|R Walls' ability to seamlessly integrate the design components on-site using patented technology.

With 15-20% of the global population experiencing neurodivergent conditions,* the facility was designed to accommodate visitors with sensory sensitivities.

On top of providing centralized access to a range of medical specialties, the driving force behind developing the Honickman Center was improving the overall experience for every patient.

Through input from neurodivergent focus groups and the Jefferson Center for Autism & Neurodiversity, M|R Walls developed a custom cloud wall texture with a high-touch pattern for tactile stimulation in waiting areas, vestibules, and hallways throughout the building.

Using a proprietary process, M|R Walls created a 3D-textured installation that spanned the entire scope of the building without visible repetition while also concealing all seams within the texture. This enabled their visionary concept to enhance spatial aesthetics while also serving a functional purpose in creating a comforting environment for patients.

Because Corian® Solid Surface can be easily cut, shaped, and seamlessly thermoformed, it significantly contributed to helping M|R Walls achieve their vision for the Honickman Center.

The neutral yet warm finishes of the Corian® panels helped set a welcoming tone, and the tactile texture further elevated the facility's soothing aesthetic. To achieve this tactile element, M|R Walls added texture to Corian® Solid Surface—a process that accentuated the design's smooth curves around every corner, resulting in a more cohesive and tranquil space.

In addition to its aesthetic appeal, M|R Walls chose Corian® Solid Surface for its durability and nonporous certified hygienic properties that make Corian® easy to clean and maintain. This was especially important for a high-traffic healthcare setting like the Honickman Center, where hygiene is a top priority.
